Meet Your Airbrush Artist: Casey
From the perfect airbrush tan to living it up in the Gold Coast, I’ve got you covered…
I’m also obsessed with traveling to and talking about Disney World and Disneyland (we try to go twice a year when it’s not a pandemic), “Dateline,” or any murder documentaries I can find, “Friends” reruns, and taking uncomfortably long naps in the middle of a day off.
After I get out I moisturize all over with a thick body butter, but I don’t recommend this to everyone. I am insanely dry so my skin drinks everything up almost immediately and won’t mess with my tan the next day. If you’re normal to dry, skip the lotion!
I also make sure to do a quick peel on my face since I won’t be able to exfoliate for a few days and couldn’t love Dr. Dennis Gross’ Alpha Beta Universal Peel Pads anymore! Give me all the acids for this texture!
I polish off the evening with a cup of Tazo Sweet Orange Tea to detox a little, relax and count down the minutes until the following day’s spray tan makes me feel human again.
While Mal’s tanning me, I always ask for extra barrier cream on my hands and feet, otherwise, they’ll absorb TOO much color, and instead, I use our Tanning Mist Touch-Up Spray to touch up my tan as the week goes on - this lets me control how the drier parts of my body look over the next week by adding a little color here and there when I need it. (And it helps to keep my face matching my body since my face always lightens first!)
As a bonus, I also use the Tanning Mist Touch-Up Spray instead of a foundation when I’m out of the house and wearing a mask! It gives me color on the top half of my face while still allowing my skin to show through because I’m eternally searching for tips and tricks to speed up my morning routine!
Take-out Favorites in the Gold Coast
The Edamame Dumplings and Kale Aid Juice from True Food Kitchen are amazing, and I order them more than I would like to admit. And don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the Lux Club Sandwich at Luxbar - it never disappoints with that chipotle mayo! And the city’s best donuts, Do-Rite Donuts, are within walking distance from Glamour Girl Airbrush Tan, and I have a lot of feelings about that.Healthy Obsessions
Cupping and acupuncture (you’ll definitely see my shoulders covered in spots at some point if you’re a regular client), meditation, and attempting to have a green thumb - most of the plants in our space are alive and some were even propagated specifically for Glamour Girl Airbrush Tan. We lovingly refer to them as our “plant babies.”Unhealthy Obsessions
My 2 cats, Gary and Carl. Don’t get me and Mal started about cats if you have somewhere to be. We’ll also lose our minds if you show us pup pictures or if you bring them in - dogs are ALWAYS welcome and can hang out with you in the room while you get your tan! Just don’t expect to talk about anything else while they’re present.I’m also obsessed with traveling to and talking about Disney World and Disneyland (we try to go twice a year when it’s not a pandemic), “Dateline,” or any murder documentaries I can find, “Friends” reruns, and taking uncomfortably long naps in the middle of a day off.
Favorite Pre-Spray-Tan Ritual
The evening before my tan, I shower, exfoliate and shave using Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Castile Soap - nothing leaves you feeling cleaner. (The peppermint cools and wakes up your skin, so I also love it in the morning or after a workout!)After I get out I moisturize all over with a thick body butter, but I don’t recommend this to everyone. Favorite Spray Tan Tips
I LOVE our Express Tan! 1. Because it gives the best Medium-Dark Tan tone for my skin, and 2. Because I can shower the same day - I just always make sure to get my spray in the morning and leave it on until the very last minute that day before I shower so that I can get the best color. The 4-hour minimum time is great but it’s even better if you can wait longer! If you’re intrigued by our Express Tan, let us know and we can help you decide if it’s the best option for you.
